It is proposed to amend Article 4, Section 10 | 0018| of the constitution of New Mexico to read: | 0019| "Each member of the legislature shall receive: | 0020| A. as per diem expense the sum of not more than | 0021| seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for each day's attendance during | 0022| each session, as provided by law, and twenty-five cents ($.25) | 0023| for each mile traveled in going to and returning from the seat | 0024| of government by the usual traveled route, once each session as | 0025| defined by Article 4, Section 5 of this constitution; | 0001| B. per diem expense and mileage at the same rates as | 0002| provided in Subsection A of this section for service at meetings | 0003| required by legislative committees established by the | 0004| legislature to meet in the interim between sessions; and | 0005| C. no other compensation, perquisite or allowance, | 0006| including state-financed retirement benefits." | 0007| Section 2. The amendment proposed by this resolution shall | 0008| be submitted to the people for their approval or rejection at | 0009| the next general election or at any special election prior to | 0010| that date which may be called for that purpose. | 0011|  |
