0012|     PROPOSING TO AMEND THE CONSTITUTION OF NEW MEXICO BY ADDING A

0013|     NEW SECTION PERMITTING REGISTERED QUALIFIED ELECTORS TO VOTE FOR

0014|     ANY CANDIDATE IN A PRIMARY ELECTION.

0016|     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0017|       Section 1.  It is proposed to amend the constitution of New
    |
0018|     Mexico by adding a new section to read:
    |
0019|       "A registered qualified elector may vote in a primary
    |
0020|     election for a candidate of a party different from the party
    |
0021|     designation shown on the registered qualified elector's
    |
0022|     certificate of voter registration."
    |
0023|       Section 2.  The amendment proposed by this resolution shall
    |
0024|     be submitted to the people for their approval or rejection at
    |
0025|     the next general election or at any special election prior to
    |
0001|     that date which may be called for that purpose.
