It is proposed to amend Article 10 of the | 0018| constitution of New Mexico by adding a new section to read: | 0019| "A. The governing body of any county or any | 0020| municipality within a county may establish a citizen police | 0021| review board that shall be independent of the governing body. | 0022| B. A governing body that establishes a citizen | 0023| police review board shall provide for election of the board by | 0024| resolution. | 0025| C. A citizen police review board shall have broad | 0001| authority to investigate and resolve citizen complaints | 0002| regarding any law enforcement agency as provided by law." | 0003| Section 2. The amendment proposed by this resolution shall | 0004| be submitted to the people for their approval or rejection at | 0005| the next general election or at any special election prior to | 0006| that date which may be called for that purpose. | 0007|  |
