0012|     REQUESTING THE CITY OF SANTA FE TO STUDY MEASURES TO RELIEVE

0013|     PARKING CONGESTION AROUND THE CAPITOL.

0015|       WHEREAS, thousands of citizens come to the capitol
    |
0016|     throughout the year, both to see their legislature at work
    |
0017|     during the legislative session and to view the capitol; and 
    |
0018|       WHEREAS, although parking is problematic throughout the
    |
0019|     city of Santa Fe, it is severely limited near the capitol,
    |
0020|     especially during the legislative sessions; and
    |
0021|       WHEREAS, the neighborhood surrounding the capitol receives
    |
0022|     the brunt of the congestion and overcrowding related to parking
    |
0023|     during the session and during other times of the year;
    |
0024|       NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
    |
0025|     STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the city of Santa Fe be requested to
    |
0001|     study alternatives to relieve parking congestion around the
    |
0002|     capitol during the legislative sessions; and
    |
0003|       BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city of Santa Fe invite the
    |
0004|     affected neighborhood associations to work in partnership with
    |
0005|     the city and the state to develop a plan to alleviate the
    |
0006|     parking problem; and
    |
0007|       BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
    |
0008|     transmitted to the mayor, to the city council of Santa Fe and to
    |
0009|     the secretary of general services.
