0012| RECOGNIZING THE VALUE OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION.

0014| WHEREAS, most graduating high school students need
|
0015| employability skills training; and
|
0016| WHEREAS, vocational education, its post-secondary
|
0017| articulation component and tech prep courses provide
|
0018| employability skills;
|
0019| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
|
0020| REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that it continue to
|
0021| establish vocational education policies based on:
|
0022| A. tech prep/school to work;
|
0023| B. applied technology and systems application;
|
0024| C. strengthening initiatives to improve
|
0025| employability skills and work ethics;
|
0001| D. essential foundation for higher education and
|
0002| career development;
|
0003| E. individual student needs, promoting personal
|
0004| growth and leadership opportunities;
|
0005| F. continuous contribution to the growth of business
|
0006| and industry;
|
0007| G. strengthening individual ability to act as a
|
0008| productive citizen;
|
0009| H. enriching the quality of life for individuals and
|
0010| families as a basic unit of society;
|
0011| I. expanding collaborative school health, counseling
|
0012| and information services; and
|
0013| J. implementing programs for early childhood
|
0014| intervention and professional development; and
|
0015| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
|
0016| transmitted to the chairman of the governing board of each
|
0017| technical-vocational school.
