0012|     COMMENDING THE JEMEZ MOUNTAINS ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE,

0013|     INCORPORATED, FOR INITIATING CHANGES IN ITS METHOD OF
    |
0014|     COOPERATIVE MEMBERSHIP VOTING.

0016|       WHEREAS, the Jemez mountains electric cooperative,
    |
0017|     incorporated, provides electric service in northern New Mexico
    |
0018|     to rural residents and small business and industrial customers
    |
0019|     who are member-owners of the cooperative and who elect from
    |
0020|     among themselves a governing board and adopt and amend bylaws
    |
0021|     governing election procedures; and
    |
0022|       WHEREAS, Jemez mountains electric cooperative,
    |
0023|     incorporated, has adopted a method of voting that includes
    |
0024|     voting by voting machine, petition procedures for persons
    |
0025|     wanting to become candidates and participation that benefits its
    |
0001|     members and fits the needs of the cooperative;
    |
0002|       NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
    |
0003|     STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Jemez mountains electric cooperative,
    |
0004|     incorporated, be commended for adopting bylaws and practices
    |
0005|     that are a fair, representative and practical method of voting
    |
0006|     and participation in the election of its trustees; and
    |
0007|       BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be sent
    |
0008|     to Jemez mountains electric cooperative, incorporated.
