0012| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PER DIEM AND MILEAGE FOR VOTING

0013| RIGHTS COORDINATORS IN CERTAIN COUNTIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0016| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Sixty thousand dollars
|
0017| ($60,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local
|
0018| government division of the department of finance and
|
0019| administration for expenditure in fiscal years 1996 and 1997 for
|
0020| the purpose of providing per diem and mileage for voting rights
|
0021| coordinators in certain counties, including per diem and mileage
|
0022| for appropriate voting rights meetings, to improve statewide
|
0023| compliance with federal court consent decrees. Any unexpended
|
0024| or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997
|
0025| shall revert to the general fund.

0001| Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
|
0002| peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
