0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO

0013|     STATE UNIVERSITY TO EXPAND AND IMPROVE PROGRAMS AT THE

0014|     SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE CENTER IN ALCALDE LOCATED IN
    |
0015|     RIO ARRIBA COUNTY.

0017|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0018|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0019|            A.  Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is
    |
0020|     appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of
    |
0021|     New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 1997
    |
0022|     for the purpose of expanding and improving programs at the
    |
0023|     sustainable agricultural science center in Alcalde located in
    |
0024|     Rio Arriba county.  The appropriation shall be distributed in
    |
0025|     the following amounts to the following entities:
    |
0001|                 (1)  four hundred four thousand seven hundred
    |
0002|     eighty-five dollars ($404,785) to the cooperative extension
    |
0003|     service; and
    |
0004|                 (2)  ninety-five thousand two hundred fifteen
    |
0005|     dollars ($95,215) to the agricultural experiment station.
    |
0006|            B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0007|     at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
