0012| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A SCHOOL-TO-WORK INITIATIVE IN

0015| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0016| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars
|
0017| ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the labor
|
0018| department for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose
|
0019| of funding a youth opportunities in retail sales school-to-work
|
0020| initiative. The initiative shall encourage high school students
|
0021| to consider retail sales as a career choice and to change
|
0022| behaviors and academic accomplishments of participating students
|
0023| through integration of business and student educational needs.
|
0024| Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
|
0025| fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
