0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

0013|     FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING A PILOT PROJECT TO INVESTIGATE

0014|     AND PROSECUTE FRAUD SCHEMES THAT TARGET ELDERLY PERSONS.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0017|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-four thousand five
    |
0018|     hundred dollars ($74,500) is appropriated from the general fund
    |
0019|     to the office of the attorney general for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0020|     year 1997 for the purpose of implementing a pilot project to
    |
0021|     investigate and prosecute fraud schemes that target elderly
    |
0022|     persons.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0023|     the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
