0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EXPANSION OF ADULT BASIC

0013|     EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND SERVICES IN RURAL AREAS.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0017|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0019|     year 1997 to provide or contract for expansion of the adult
    |
0020|     basic education program and services in rural areas of the
    |
0021|     state.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the
    |
0022|     end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
