0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES

0013|     DEPARTMENT TO CONTINUE FUNDING FOR A STATEWIDE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

0014|     OF COMPANIONSHIP FOR CHILDREN SIX TO SIXTEEN YEARS OF AGE FROM

0017|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0018|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thirty-six
    |
0019|     thousand eight hundred dollars ($336,800) is appropriated from
    |
0020|     the general fund to the children, youth and families department
    |
0021|     for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of providing
    |
0022|     or contracting for continuation of a statewide volunteer program
    |
0023|     of companionship for children six to sixteen years of age from
    |
0024|     single-parent homes.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0025|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the
    |
0001|     general fund.
