AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR A PROGRAM AT THE INSTITUTE OF AMERICAN INDIAN ARTS FOR RESEARCH INTO AND EDUCATION AND OUTREACH ABOUT POLLINATORS TO SUPPORT A HEALTHY HABITAT AND CONSERVATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal years 2026 through 2028 for a program at the institute of American Indian arts in Santa Fe in Santa Fe county for research into and education and outreach about pollinators to support a healthy habitat and conservation of pollinators in a way that is consistent with recommendations made in the report prepared pursuant to House Memorial 33 of the second session of the fifty-sixth legislature; provided that no more than one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) shall be used for indirect costs necessary to administer the programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2028 shall revert to the general fund.
