AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE COST OF THE PRELIMINARY SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS WHO SCORE ONE THOUSAND OR ABOVE ON THE TEST DURING THEIR JUNIOR YEAR.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2025 to provide reimbursement for the cost of the preliminary scholastic aptitude test for high school juniors who score one thousand or above on the test during their junior year. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
