AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO CONTRACT FOR THE SUPPORT OF INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS AND FAMILIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 to contract with a state chapter of a national organization that supports individuals living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and those individuals' caregivers by providing access to assistive technology, supporting multidisciplinary care and providing support for families affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2024 shall revert to the general fund.
