AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO FUND A STUDY THAT EVALUATES THE DEMAND FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT IN NEW MEXICO AND CREATES A SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PLAN AIMED AT ADDRESSING THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT NEEDS IN THIS STATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 to study the demand for substance abuse treatment in New Mexico and to create a substance abuse treatment plan that determines the number of treatment facilities, types of treatment services, geographic distribution of services and funding that would be necessary to address the demand for substance abuse treatment in this state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2024 shall revert to the general fund.
