AN ACT
RELATING TO THE PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSION; PROVIDING THAT THE SALARY OF A PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSIONER SHALL BE EQUAL TO THE SALARY OF A DISTRICT COURT JUDGE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. A new section of the Public Regulation Commission Act is enacted to read:
"[NEW MATERIAL] COMPENSATION.--
A. A commissioner shall receive an annual salary that is equal to the annual salary of a district court judge as provided in Section 34-1-9 NMSA 1978.
B. No additional salaries shall be paid to commissioners on account of services rendered, and commissioners may receive per diem and mileage for necessary travel on official business as provided in the Per Diem and Mileage Act."
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 2023.
