A MEMORIAL
HONORING REYNALDO MIGUEL FLORES AND RECOGNIZING HIS EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO NEW MEXICO.
WHEREAS, Reynaldo Miguel Flores is a lifelong resident of Pecos, New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, the son of Teodolo and Escolastica Flores, Reynaldo was born in Pecos on September 29, 1933; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from Pecos high school, Reynaldo joined the United States air force; and
WHEREAS, Reynaldo served from July 1951 to January 1955 as a military police officer during the Korean conflict; and
WHEREAS, Reynaldo completed his service at Cannon air force base in Clovis; and
WHEREAS, Reynaldo married Flora Algien on August 18, 1956, and together they raised five children: Donna, Michael, Donald, Renee and Douglas; and
WHEREAS, in 1956, Reynaldo began his career in New Mexico state government at the penitentiary of New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Reynaldo moved on to work at the state highway and transportation department in 1968 and returned to the penitentiary of New Mexico in 1970; and
WHEREAS, Reynaldo was a guard on duty during the violent riot at the penitentiary of New Mexico on February 2 and 3, 1980; and
WHEREAS, Reynaldo's career and service to the state of New Mexico spanned thirty years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Reynaldo Miguel Flores be honored and recognized for his exemplary service to New Mexico; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to Reynaldo Miguel Flores.
