AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE PROVIDER REIMBURSEMENTS IN THE AGING NETWORK.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five million two hundred thousand dollars ($5,200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the aging and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2022 and subsequent fiscal years to increase provider reimbursements in the aging network. The department shall coordinate with the area agencies on aging to develop a method of distribution that prioritizes small, rural providers; providers at risk of closure or loss of services; and providers with waiting lists. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
