AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES TO ASSESS AND REPORT ON THE AVAILABILITY OF AND NEED FOR SOCIAL WORKERS IN NEW MEXICO AND METHODS TO EXPAND CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL WORK IN THIS STATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Forty thousand dollars ($40,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2022 to contract for services to:
(1) assess the availability of and need for social workers in New Mexico and methods to expand cultural diversity in the field of social work in this state; and
(2) report, by November 1, 2021, its findings and recommendations to the legislative health and human services committee and the legislative finance committee.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2022 shall revert to the general fund.
