AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO IMPLEMENT THE FARMERS' MARKET DOUBLE UP FOOD BUCKS PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2022 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to enhance the buying power of supplemental nutrition assistance program participants through the double up food bucks program to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at farmers' markets. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2022 shall revert to the general fund.
