    Your LABOR, VETERANS' AND MILITARY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE BILL 148

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

    1. On page 18, lines 4 and 5, strike "January 1, 2024" and insert in lieu thereof "the earlier of December 31, 2023 or the date federal relief is received".

 

    2. On page 19, between lines 5 and 6, insert the following:

 

         "(8) "federal relief" means federal funds deposited in the unemployment compensation fund or the forgiveness of loans provided by the federal government to the state for the purpose of providing unemployment compensation benefits;".

 

    3. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

 

    4. On page 40, line 19, strike "and".

 

    5. On page 41, line 13, strike "January 1, 2024" and insert in lieu thereof "the date the base wage determined pursuant to Subparagraph (b) of this paragraph is no longer in effect".

 

    6. On page 42, line 9, strike "January 1, 2024" and insert in lieu thereof "the earlier of December 31, 2023 or the date federal relief is received".

 

    7. On page 45, line 9, strike the closing quotation mark and insert in lieu thereof "; and" and between lines 9 and 10, insert the following:

 

         "U. "federal relief" means federal funds deposited in the unemployment compensation fund or the forgiveness of loans provided by the federal government to the state for the purpose of providing unemployment compensation benefits."".,

 

 

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
