A MEMORIAL

DECLARING JANUARY 28, 2020 "SUNSET MESA SCHOOL FIFTH GRADERS' DAY" IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

     WHEREAS, Sunset Mesa school has been providing excellent education to Albuquerque preschoolers and elementary-age children since 1948; and

     WHEREAS, Sunset Mesa school continues to provide students in the Albuquerque area with a strong academic foundation in an environment that challenges students to think and act independently, develop strong study habits and think critically; and

     WHEREAS, Sunset Mesa school encourages students to be productive, responsible and caring by learning sound values, compassion and ethical behavior; and

     WHEREAS, the teachers, administrators, parents and community of Sunset Mesa school have built a strong, supportive community with the children's best interests in mind; and

     WHEREAS, the purpose of Sunset Mesa school is to give children a strong foundation on which to build their future educational and life experiences, an investment that will pay interest for a lifetime; and

     WHEREAS, the alumni of Sunset Mesa school have become productive, caring and kind members of the community and have given back to the community that raised them; and

     WHEREAS, the fifth grade class of Sunset Mesa school is a hard-working, kind and smart group of children who will move on to different middle schools after graduating from Sunset Mesa school;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that January 28, 2020 be declared "Sunset Mesa School Fifth Graders' Day" in the house of representatives; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to Sunset Mesa school.
