Mr. Speaker:

 

    Your STATE GOVERNMENT, ELECTIONS AND INDIAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE BILL 233

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

 

     1. On page 7, line 12, after the period, insert:

 

     "Applications shall include the utility's estimate of costs for grid modernization projects. Applications for grid modernization projects shall be filed pursuant to Sections 62-9-1 and 62-9-3 NMSA 1978, as applicable.".

 

     2. On page 8, line 12, after "customer", insert "protection," and strike "and" and insert in lieu thereof "or".

 

     3. On page 8, line 20, strike "pursuant to this section" and insert in lieu thereof "by the commission".

 

     4. On page 8, lines 23 and 24, strike "consistent with commission-approved utility grid modernization projects" and insert in lieu thereof "no greater than the amount approved by the commission for a utility grid modernization project".
