A MEMORIAL
PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 15, 2019 "COUNTY DAY" IN THE SENATE.
WHEREAS, New Mexico counties represents a rich and multifaceted history of cultural, environmental and economic diversity; and
WHEREAS, New Mexico counties is governed by one county- elected official from each of the thirty-three member counties, including members from the offices of county commissioner, county clerk, county assessor, county treasurer, county probate judge and county sheriff, plus ex-officio members; and
WHEREAS, New Mexico counties strives to be inclusive of all persons and authorities in the counties and to utilize resources and best provide services; and
WHEREAS, New Mexico counties is a statewide voice working to advance effective, efficient and responsive local government; and
WHEREAS, New Mexico counties requests the governor and her cabinet to assist local efforts to improve the quality of life in New Mexico;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 15, 2019 be proclaimed "County Day" in the senate; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the great people and great places of each of the thirty-three New Mexico counties be recognized; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the New Mexico counties office.
