A MEMORIAL

DECLARING JANUARY 31, 2019 "NEW MEXICO MANUFACTURED HOUSING ASSOCIATION DAY" IN THE SENATE.

     WHEREAS, manufactured housing provides potential homeowners with affordable, high-quality alternatives to conventional site-built housing; and

     WHEREAS, manufactured homes are produced using state-of-the-art construction techniques and technologies in a controlled environment, allowing for maximum quality control during the construction process and greatly reducing both construction time and the wasted materials normally generated by new construction; and

     WHEREAS, the manufactured housing industry has been leading the way on energy efficiency and green building construction because the construction process of a manufactured home allows for easier incorporation of energy efficient features and environmentally friendly products into the home; and

     WHEREAS, the New Mexico manufactured housing association is the trade association that represents the retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and communities of the manufactured housing industry in New Mexico; and

     WHEREAS, the New Mexico manufactured housing association is composed of professionals committed to providing resources and information to help consumers find affordable, high-quality housing; and

     WHEREAS, the credibility of each New Mexico manufactured housing association member retailer, manufacturer and lender is assured through their individual commitment to the New Mexico manufactured housing association code of ethics and various industry rules and regulations; and

     WHEREAS, approximately eighteen percent of New Mexico's homeowners currently reside in a manufactured home, making the manufactured housing industry a vital component to homeownership in New Mexico;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that January 31, 2019 be declared "New Mexico Manufactured Housing Association Day" in the senate and that recognition be extended to the leadership and members of the New Mexico manufactured housing association for their invaluable contribution to New Mexico; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the president of the New Mexico manufactured housing association, the directors of the New Mexico manufactured housing association and the executive director of the New Mexico manufactured housing association.
