AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT FOR THE OPERATION OF RECYCLING PROGRAMS STATEWIDE AND FOR EDUCATION PROGRAMS STATEWIDE ON REDUCING RECYCLING CONTAMINATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Three million one hundred eighteen thousand dollars ($3,118,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 for the following purposes:

                (1) two million three hundred sixty-eight thousand dollars ($2,368,000) for the operation of recycling programs statewide; and

                (2) seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) for education programs statewide on reducing recycling contamination.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
