Mr. President:
Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 522, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page l, line 14, before the period, insert "; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION".
2. On page 5, between lines 13 and 14, insert the following new section:
"SECTION 2. APPROPRIATION.--The general fund appropriation to the legislative education study committee in Item (3) of Section 5 of Chapter 73 of Laws 2018 shall not revert to the general fund at the end of fiscal year 2019, but is appropriated to the legislative education study committee for fiscal year 2020 to pay the costs of the commission on equity and excellence in education. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.".
3. Renumber the succeeding section accordingly.
