AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO FUND A COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CAREERS PROGRAM AND PROVIDE REGIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN PRIMARY CARE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Three hundred twenty-seven thousand dollars ($327,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 to:
(1) fund a comprehensive health careers program operated by an entity with at least five years' experience in training youth located in rural New Mexico to enter health careers; and
(2) provide regional training opportunities in a wide range of primary-care-related health professions.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
