AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL AND RANGE SCIENCES OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO STUDY GROUND WATER RESOURCES IN COLFAX, HARDING, MORA AND UNION COUNTIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2020 and 2021 for the department of animal and range sciences to study the quantity and quality of ground water resources in Colfax, Harding, Mora and Union counties, with a focus on Colfax and Harding counties, for the purpose of determining appropriate land use in rural agricultural areas of those counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2021 shall revert to the general fund.
