AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO STUDY THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A STATE MEAT INSPECTION PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 for the agricultural economics and business department to collaborate with the New Mexico livestock board to study the development and implementation of a state meat inspection program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
