    Your STATE GOVERNMENT, ELECTIONS & INDIAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 149

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 2, line 5, after "petition", insert "via certified

mail".

     2. On page 2, line 5, after the period, strike the remainder

of the line, strike line 6 in its entirety and strike line 7 up to

the quotation mark.

     3. On page 3, strike lines 17 through 24 in their entirety and

insert in lieu thereof the following new paragraph:

          "(9) contact an Indian child's tribe to consult and

exchange information for the purpose of collaborating on appropriate

referrals for services along with case planning throughout the

period of involvement with juvenile justice services.".

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
