    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 259

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 3, line 22, after "a", insert "law enforcement national crime information center".

    2. On page 8, lines 8 through 19, strike Subsection B in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following:

         "B. A neutral third party who takes possession of a relinquished firearm shall, on a form provided by the court, certify that the person took possession of the firearm and, on or before the business day following the relinquishment, provide the certification to the restrained party. The restrained party shall, on or before the business day following receipt of the neutral third party's certification, file the certification with the court that issued the order of protection. Failure to file the certification shall constitute a violation of the order of protection.".

    3. On page 10, line 5, after the semicolon, insert "and".

    4. On page 10, strike lines 6 through 8 in their entirety and reletter the succeeding subparagraph accordingly.

    5. On page 10, line 19, after the semicolon, insert "and".

    6. On page 10, strike lines 20 through 22 in their entirety and reletter the succeeding subparagraph accordingly.,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
