    Your LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ELECTIONS, LAND GRANTS AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 98, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 12, after "COUNTIES", insert "; LIMITING HOW OFTEN PETITIONS FOR ANNEXATION MAY BE FILED".

     2. On page 2, line 16, before "A", insert the subsection designation "A.".

     3. On page 2, line 25, strike the closing quotation mark.

     4. On page 2, after line 25, insert a new subsection to read:

          "B. A county commission shall not accept for filing a petition for annexation pursuant to Subsection A of this section if the county has held an election on the question of annexation within the previous five years."".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
