AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO FUND PUBLIC AWARENESS AND EDUCATION SERVICES RELATED TO THE PROCESSING OF SEXUAL ASSAULT EXAMINATION KITS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2018 to fund public awareness and education services provided by sexual assault service providers and related to the processing of sexual assault examination kits. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2018 shall revert to the general fund.
