AN ACT
MAKING SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE NEW MEXICO SUPREME COURT, THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE COURTS AND THE TWELFTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT TO PREVENT COURT CLOSINGS AND TO ADDRESS OTHER OPERATIONAL NEEDS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO SUPREME COURT.--Eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico supreme court for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 for operational needs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
SECTION 2. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE COURTS.--Eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 for the jury and witness fee fund and operational needs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
SECTION 3. SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION TO THE TWELFTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT.--Thirty-seven thousand one hundred dollars ($37,100) is appropriated from the general fund to the twelfth judicial district court for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 for operational needs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
SECTION 4. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
