A MEMORIAL
PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 2, 2016 "I LOVE RIO RANCHO DAY" IN THE SENATE.
WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho began as a retirement community called Rio Rancho estates in the early 1960s; and
WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho became an incorporated municipality in 1981; and
WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho is now the third-largest city in New Mexico, with a population of more than ninety-four thousand; and
WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho is recognized nationally as one of the best places to live in the United States; and
WHEREAS, the city of Rio Rancho has a growing business community, a tremendous public school district, expanding higher education opportunities, state-of-the-art health care facilities and a variety of recreational and quality-of-life amenities that residents of all ages enjoy; and
WHEREAS, 2016 marks the thirty-sixth anniversary of Rio Rancho's chamber of commerce;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 2, 2016 be proclaimed "I Love Rio Rancho Day" in the senate; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the governing body of Rio Rancho and the Rio Rancho regional chamber of commerce.
