A MEMORIAL

DECLARING JANUARY 25, 2016 "LEADERSHIP NEW MEXICO DAY" IN THE SENATE.

 

     WHEREAS, leadership New Mexico began in 1995 with a small group of passionate individuals dedicated to the development of informed leaders from throughout the state; and

     WHEREAS, twenty years later, the group's passion for New Mexico has produced a statewide network of leaders, providing a forum for participants to strengthen their understanding of challenges and opportunities facing the state; and

     WHEREAS, leadership New Mexico brings together diverse geographic, cultural and professional perspectives to address vital issues such as health and human services, economic development, education, environment and natural resources, crime and justice and government and community leadership; and

     WHEREAS, graduates of leadership New Mexico include Senator Steven P. Neville, Senator Joseph Cervantes, Senator George K. Munoz, Senator Benny Shendo, Jr., and Senator Peter Wirth; and

     WHEREAS, the leadership New Mexico alumni have put their knowledge into action by serving countless hours on boards and committees, contributing to worthy causes and advocating for concerns critical to the state's residents' well-being and future prosperity; and

     WHEREAS, leadership New Mexico celebrates the legacy of twenty years of shaping New Mexico, one leader at a time;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that January 25, 2016 be declared "Leadership New Mexico Day" in the senate; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the president of leadership New Mexico.
