AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COLLECTING LOCAL-LEVEL JOB-CREATION DATA AND HELPING LOCAL GOVERNMENTS PLAN AND COORDINATE THEIR JOB-CREATION EFFORTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 to:
(1) work with local governments, using the jobs council framework, to collect and update job-creation data; and
(2) help local governments, using the jobs council framework, to plan and coordinate their economic-base job-creation efforts.
B. This appropriation is contingent on the receipt of matching funds given for those purposes and received from one or more non-state entities.
C. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
