AN ACT

RELATING TO EMERGENCY SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES TRAINING ENHANCEMENT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS STATEWIDE; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. [NEW MATERIAL] EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS--TRAINING--BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES.--By October 1, 2016, the secretary of health shall provide for enhanced training in behavioral health services for emergency medical technicians statewide.

     SECTION 2. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 to fund enhanced behavioral health services training for emergency medical technicians statewide pursuant to Section 1 of this act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
