AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO FUND THE STATE'S SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 to provide for state food stamp supplement benefits through the supplemental nutrition assistance program for individuals who are elderly or who are living with disabilities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
