AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR CAREER SKILLS TRAINING AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 for career skills training and workforce development through a pre-college educational program facilitated by New Mexico state university. New Mexico state university or a contracting entity on its behalf shall provide quarterly progress reports to the legislative finance committee and the legislative education study committee. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
