AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR CREATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A BULLYING PREVENTION PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 and subsequent fiscal years for the creation and implementation of a bullying prevention program that:

                (1) includes policies that use best practices;

                (2) provides anti-bias education; and

                (3) includes compliance monitoring.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
