Mr. President:

    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 56, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. Strike all items of House Floor Amendment number 1.

    2. On page 2, line 9, after the period, insert the following:

    "The sentence of life imprisonment shall not be imposed without a finding that all three violent felonies:

             (1) resulted in death or great bodily harm;

             (2) were committed with the intent to cause death or great bodily harm; and

             (3) were committed in a manner found to be violent.".

    3. On page 2, line 25, after "means", insert ", pursuant to the findings required by Subsection B of this section".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
