AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH A JUVENILE PROBATION AND PAROLE OFFICER POSITION IN THE LAS CRUCES PUBLIC SCHOOLS TRUANCY PREVENTION OFFICE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to establish a juvenile probation and parole officer position in the Las Cruces public schools truancy prevention office. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
