Your FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 304, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. Strike Senate Education Committee Amendment 2.
2. On page 1, line 12, strike "TOYS" and insert in lieu thereof "LEARNING RESOURCES".
3. On page 1, strike Section 1 in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following new section:
"SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION--TEMPORARY PROVISION--USE OF DEPARTMENT FUNDS.--For fiscal year 2016, the children, youth and families department shall enter into an inter-governmental agreement with regional education cooperatives statewide to use two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) in department funds for books and learning resources to be purchased and then loaned by regional education cooperatives on a prorated, per-student basis to providers of state-funded early childhood assistance programs.".
