AN ACT
MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO AND NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO ENHANCE STUDENT GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--
A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the following post-secondary educational institutions for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 for the following purposes:
(1) two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for the global education office to support study abroad opportunities at all of New Mexico's public two-year, four-year and tribal colleges; and
(2) two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for the office of education abroad to support study abroad opportunities at all of New Mexico's public two-year, four-year and tribal colleges.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
