AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ARCHIVE MATERIALS RELATING TO THE PENITENTIARY RIOT OF 1980.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the corrections department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to archive materials from the penitentiary riot of 1980, including film and video clips, newspaper accounts, reporters' notes and other documentation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
