AN ACT

RELATING TO PUBLIC AFFAIRS; DECLARING A STATE CHILDREN'S SONG.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. [NEW MATERIAL] STATE CHILDREN'S SONG.--The words and music of "Green Chile", written by Melanie Humphreys, are declared to be the official state children's song. The words of the state children's song are:

     "(first verse)

     How can you turn pizza into awesome?

     How can you make macaroni sing?

     How can you make your hamburger blossom?

     The secret is to add just one more thing...

     (chorus)

     Green chile! Green chile!

     Everything is better with green chile.

     You think your food is tasty? Don't be silly,

     Cause everything is better with green chile.

     (second verse)

     We put it in our jelly and our mustard,

     We put it in our quesadillas too,

     We put it in our ice cream and our custard,

     Without it, what on earth would we do?!

     (chorus)

     When you think Las Cruces is too boring,

     When you think you'd like to try New York,

     The shopping and the shows may be rewarding,

     But something will be missing on your fork!
