SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to SENATE BILL 263, as amended
Amendment sponsored by Senator Michael S. Sanchez
1. On page 5, lines 7 through 17, remove the brackets and line-through.
2. On page 5, line 8, after "body", insert "of a class B county having a population of more than fifty-six thousand but less than seventy-five thousand according to the most recent federal decennial census and having a net taxable value for rate-setting purposes for a tax year of more than five hundred million dollars ($500,000,000) but less than eight hundred million dollars ($800,000,000)".
3. On page 5, line 8, strike "imposing" and insert in lieu thereof ", to become effective only if approved by the voters in an election held pursuant to Subsection H of this section, that imposes".
4. On page 5, line 13, after the period, strike the remainder of the line and strike lines 14 through 17 in their entirety.
5. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
6. On page 5, line 19, after "county", insert "not described in Subsection A of this section".
7. On page 5, line 21, strike "F" and insert in lieu thereof "H".
8. On page 5, line 21, after "imposes", insert "an excise tax".
9. On page 5, line 23, after "county", strike the remainder of the line and on line 24, strike up to "excise" and insert in lieu thereof ". The".
10. On page 6, between lines 22 and 23, insert the following:
"C. A tax imposed pursuant to this section may be referred to as the "local liquor excise tax".".
11. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
12. On page 7, line 2, after "A", insert "or B".
13. On page 7, line 7, strike "F" and insert in lieu thereof "H".
